Patient Care and Access Matters
Welcome to our new blog. This is an effort to keep members of the New Jersey Patient Care and Access Coalition updated on our activities as well as give us the ability to comment on healthcare topics affecting independent and integrated physician practices. We will try to provide new content here at least monthly and are always open to ideas from our members and other visitors to our website.
The double meaning in our blog title is purely intentional. Patient care DOES matter. Patient access DOES matter. And our coalition was brought together to preserve those important medical principles.
Our efforts to provide the very highest in cost-effective quality care and to assure access to a broad spectrum of patients are sometimes complicated by regulatory and policy making in Trenton and Washington. We work diligently to educate public policy makers on the difficulties facing physicians and our staff.
In the weeks and months ahead, we will provide commentary in this space on the top health care issues facing New Jersey medical practices, including network narrowing and tiering; out of network reform; self-referral changes on both the state and national level; network adequacy updates; billing issues; screening recommendations from the Federal government and a wide range of issues facing physicians, their practices and, most importantly, their patients.
I hope you will check these pages often for updates. And, as always, if you have concerns or questions about the New Jersey Patient Care and Access Coalition, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
